Silverman Thompson Partner Bill Sinclair to Speak at UVA Law Concussion Panel

The Virginia Sports and Entertainment Law Journal will be hosting a panel discussion on sports concussion litigation on February 10 at the University of Virginia School of Law and they have asked Silverman Thompson partner Bill Sinclair to participate in that discussion. Mr. Sinclair is a 2002 graduate of the Law School and co-lead plaintiffs’ counsel in the NHL concussion matter. Other panelists are Jon Taylor, a principal at Gupta Wessler in Washington D.C. and the primary author of 34 former NFL players’ petition for certiorari to the US Supreme Court objecting to a settlement in the NFL concussion matter, and Dan Werly, an experienced sports lawyer and journalist who is presently the managing editor of the popular sports law blog “The White Bronco” and a frequent contributor to the Sports Illustrated’s the Cauldron. The panel is expected to address the concussion litigation that has confronted the NCAA, NHL and NFL and the future of such actions, including the Big 12 suit just filed this year.
