Steven D. Silverman Receives a Daily Record Inaugural Managing Partners Award

The Daily Record has selected Silverman Thompson Slutkin & White Managing Partner Steven D. Silverman to receive an inaugural Managing Partners Award.
The Managing Partners Awards honor managing partners and equivalent senior firm leaders in both the legal and financial sectors who demonstrate vision, integrity, and measurable impact on their organizations and communities.
These leaders are recognized for their professional achievements, commitment to developing the next generation of talent and their meaningful contributions to their firms and the broader community. The honorees were selected by The Daily Record’s editorial team.
“The inaugural Managing Partners award recipients are outstanding leaders in law and finance. Their innovative thinking and dedication to their fields demonstrate their strong commitment to their organizations, communities and beyond,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of BridgeTower Media/The Daily Record. “These accomplished professionals also provide invaluable guidance to the next generation of leaders through mentoring. We at The Daily Record are pleased to celebrate these stellar leaders in our community.”
Managing Partner Steven D. Silverman founded Silverman Thompson in 1994, leaving government service with the vision of forming an elite trial and litigation law firm. His goal was to bring together experienced criminal trial lawyers who had accelerated their trial skills by going to court daily during their government service. This includes former U.S. and States Attorneys as well as felony public defenders.

As a civil and criminal attorney, he has earned recognition from Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, The Daily Record, U.S. News and World Report, and more. But beyond his success as a litigator, Steve’s leadership is demonstrated through the firm’s growth in attorneys, staff, and practice areas, as well as through its recognition from The Baltimore Sun Top Workplaces (2013-2025) and The Maryland Daily Record Best Legacy Businesses (2026) and Empowering Women (2024) awards.
“The professional accomplishment I’m most proud of is building Silverman Thompson from a solo practice into a firm of nearly 80 people. What matters most to me is how we’ve continued growing while maintaining a culture that truly puts people first. That means our colleagues, staff, and clients all come before anything else,” he commented.
“We’ve created an environment where talented attorneys want to stay, collaborate, and do meaningful work. Watching that vision come to life over the years has been incredibly rewarding.”

“I believe our work has made a meaningful, tangible difference in people’s lives. Whether we’re helping someone navigate a difficult legal challenge or advocating on their behalf, those outcomes truly matter. Over the years, I’d like to think we’ve positively impacted tens of thousands of Marylanders,” he continued.
Congratulations to the other well-deserved honorees!
