Joseph S. Stephan

Joe Stephan is an associate in the family law department.

Mr. Stephan initially joined Silverman Thompson as a law clerk after being awarded the firm’s 1L fellowship. Mr. Stephan rejoined the firm as an attorney after serving as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Colleen A. Cavanaugh, the lead Family Law Judge on the Circuit Court for Baltimore County.

Mr. Stephan graduated summa cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law with a concentration in Business Law. He was a distinguished scholar of the Royal Graham Shannonhouse III Honor Society and an Associate Managing Editor for the University of Baltimore Law Review. Mr. Stephan also worked as a Student Attorney in the Community Development Clinic, where he represented nonprofit organizations and community-oriented small businesses. During law school, Mr. Stephan also served as a Research Assistant, a Law Scholar, and a Fellow in the Maryland State Bar Association – University of Baltimore Business Law Clerkship Program.

Joe completed his undergraduate education at the University of South Carolina.
