Kerri Smith is a member in the Firm's Real Estate Group where she concentrates her practice on commercial and residential real estate. She represents landlords, tenants, business owners, property management companies, commercial property owners and contractors in all aspects of development, construction, leasing, and management. Her practice includes all types of commercial, residential, retail, office, industrial, and mixed used developments.

Ms. Smith also represents businesses and individuals in federal and state courts. She has experience in a broad range of matters including contract litigation, construction litigation, class actions, financial disputes, and collection actions. She advocates in court on a daily basis.

Ms. Smith is very active in the local and legal community. She serves in numerous leadership roles for the Bar Association of Baltimore City, Maryland State Bar Association and American Bar Association. She is also a member of the Dean's Committee of the CollegeBound Foundation, serves as a Wingman with Athletes Serving Athletes and is a volunteer field hockey coach for Perry Hall Recreation Council.

Professional History

Ms. Smith attended the University of Baltimore School of Law where she was Senior Staff on the University of Baltimore Law Review and served as a Research Assistant preparing an administrative law textbook for publication. Ms. Smith was also a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Joseph F. Murphy Jr. (Ret.) in 2010 while Judge Murphy sat on the Court of Appeals of Maryland. As a judicial intern, Ms. Smith conducted extensive legislative history research, drafted an appellate opinion, and drafted an abstract of one of Judge Murphy's opinions for The Amicus Curiarum. Ms. Smith began working as a law clerk at Silverman Thompson beginning in 2011 where she gained experience in numerous areas of civil and criminal law. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2012, and join Silverman Thompson as an Associate shortly thereafter.

Ms. Smith completed her undergraduate education at St. Mary's College of Maryland, where she graduated with honors in 2009. While in college, Ms. Smith was captain of the Women's Division III Varsity Field Hockey team, and the recipient of several athletic and academic awards.
