Ethan Nochumowitz’s national litigation practice is focused on representing victims in complicated catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice matters. Mr. Nochumowitz passionately advocates for clients who have suffered a significant, permanent injury due to someone else’s negligence.  

His experience is extensive, having successfully navigated the complexities of a diverse range of serious injury and wrongful death cases arising out of, among other circumstances, automobile, bus, and tractor-trailer collisions, pedestrian deaths, all-terrain vehicle accidents, construction accidents, drownings, boating/propeller accidents, explosions, house fires, and defectively designed and manufactured products. 

Mr. Nochumowitz is known in the Mid-Atlantic and beyond for compassionately guiding his clients through the most difficult times of their lives while zealously advocating on their behalf.  Due to his meticulous preparation and attention to detail, Ethan’s track record of obtaining tremendously favorable outcomes for his clients has resulted in him being regularly called upon to litigate the firm’s most serious, and often tragic of cases, restricting his caseload to those requiring the strongest attention to detail. Mr. Nochumowitz began his tenure at Silverman Thompson as a clerk in 2012, where he has since grown to be a cornerstone to the personal injury and medical malpractice practice groups. A recipient of multiple peer-awarded honors, Mr. Nochumowitz is also an active member in the Baltimore community, performing pro bono legal services and having significant involvement with the League for People with Disabilities as both an attorney and board member.

Significant Cases
Mr.Nochumowitz regularly obtains million-dollar-plus settlements and/or verdicts for his clients and has achieved record-setting results. For example, he obtained a $2.8 million jury verdict in Calvert County, Maryland, in a case arising out of the death of a 63-year-old husband and father in an automobile collision. The verdict is believed to be the largest in Calvert County history.

Known for his exceptional preparation, organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail, Mr. Nochumowitz regularly handles construction death cases where there are dozens of subcontractors and tens of thousands of documents, having to piece together responsibility for accidents on large construction sites, cutting through the noise of all parties blaming each other for the incident.

Community Service
Mr. Nochumowitz also enjoys performing pro bono legal services for deserving organizations that do important work in the local community.

For example, he has represented The League for People With Disabilities, a charitable organization dedicated to providing vocational, rehabilitative, educational and medical services to thousands of individuals each year with multiple physical, cognitive and neurological disabilities. In that matter, Ethan convinced the City of Baltimore that it had grossly over-billed The League for water and sewer services over a number of years and obtained a settlement of over $380,000, which represented every penny of what was claimed to be owed with no compromise whatsoever.

Since that representation, Mr. Nochumowitz remains actively involved in The League, joining its Board of Directors in 2020, and serving as its Treasurer and Chair of its largest annual fundraising campaign, The League Fund.
